Preparing for Gender-Affirming Surgery
Some gender-affirming surgical procedures may require permanent hair removal in specific areas before surgery.
Because electrolysis permanently destroys the follicle, many surgeons recommend—or require—electrolysis as part of pre-surgical preparation. In some cases, insurance and HSA plans may provide coverage when electrolysis is considered medically necessary.
If electrolysis is part of your gender-affirming surgical plan, we're honored to be part of your care team. We provide permanent hair removal for many facial and body areas that help clients prepare for surgery or better align their appearance with their identity. While we no longer offer electrolysis for genital or perianal areas, we proudly provide treatment for the face, neck, chest, abdomen, back, shoulders, arms, hands, and other non-intimate treatment areas. Should you require services beyond our scope, we'll gladly help point you toward additional resources whenever possible.
