Our Plans to Keep You Safe When Business Resumes

As of Oct 2021, we have returned to normal business operations. However, we still wear our masks during all appointments, require all clients wash hands before getting on the treatment table and use Cavicide-1 to clean equipment, treatment table, and all general surfaces that were touched between each client like electrolysis machine surfaces, sink faucet, cart handles and chair adjustment lever.

Original post from April 30,2020 begins below:

We know it hasn’t been easy and that most of our customers are looking forward to getting back to their usual routine, only this time, the day you walk out your doors to resume your day-to-day activities everything will be different. It’s more important than ever before to ensure we maintain the good hygiene habits learned and practiced during the COVID-19 stay-at-home order.

We want you to know that we plan to do everything we can to keep you safe when you visit our studio and hope it inspires other businesses to do the same. Here are some of the many things we plan to do when business resumes:

3x1x2 Approach

Appointments will be limited to a maximum of 3 clients per day, with a minimum of 1-hour between each session to clean all surfaces a minimum of 2 times.

(Updated: Oct 9, 2020)

Appointments allowance max has been increased to a maximum of 4 clients a day since so much progress has been made and many of our clients only need 30-45 mins appts instead of the 1-2hr appts.

Also, given the trial run of keeping 1-hr between each client, we have found that 30-mins would suffice to still allow for 2x cleaning of all surfaces per the required contact time and while still allowing for ventilation needs. Note: Ceiling fan is always kept on to enhance/complement the building ventilation systems.

When Client Arrives

Clients will be asked to leave outerwear and footwear in the waiting area. We suggest you leave your personal items in your car or at home if you are not comfortable leaving them unattended. If you have a purse, handbag, briefcase, wallet, etc., we will carry it to the treatment room for you and store it for safe keeping. Sorry but you will not be allowed to access these items during treatment; this also applies to cell phones since they are loaded with germs and we cannot allow you to touch them during treatment.

Client will then be handed non-slip disposable foot covers and led to the bathroom to wash their hands. Then they must read & sign the provided attestation form each and every time they visit the studio. Things change and by having you reattest to the same each and every time you visit us, we will help keep everyone healthy.

(Updated: Oct 9, 2020)

We feel there is no need to keep client footwear out of the treatment rooms since Covid-19 is confirmed as being solely a respiratory virus. Therefore, we no longer require disposable foot covers either.

Attestation Form

Clients must attest to:

attestation-form.jpg
  • whether they have or have had SARS-CoV-2

  • whether they have not come in contact with someone who has SARS-CoV-2 within the previous 3 weeks to the best of their knowledge

  • that they authorize Electrolysis Beauty Lounge to release their information for contact tracing exercises if asked by a local, state or federal official.

  • that client will not hold Electrolysis Beauty Lounge legally liable if they contract any string of the COVID virus at any point during or after they begin/resume electrolysis treatments at our studio.

We will respect your wishes if you choose not to sign, but unfortunately, we will have to deny you treatments at our establishment to ensure we protect our other clients.

During Client Session

Disposable gloves will be provided to every client and are expected to be worn for the duration of the session. Clients getting treatment on their lip, chin and cheek areas will be provided disposable eyeguards that must be worn at all times, and clients having all other areas treated will be also be required to wear a face mask. Your electrologist will wear disposable gloves and a face mask during the client’s entire treatment.

To reiterate, cellphones will NOT be allowed during the session and must remain stored.

At End of Session

The checkout process will be contactless or credit card insert/swipe only. No physical cash payments will be accepted until further notice. We recommend clients who prefer cash to purchase a gift card with a major credit card logo so they can pay for treatments.

After payment, clients will be asked to remove eyeguards, dispose of gloves & face masks in the trash, & wash their hands at the sink in the treatment room. Clients will then be escorted to the waiting area where they can discard of their shoe covers and reclaim all outerwear and footwear.

(Updated: Oct 9, 2020)

Instead of disposable eyeguards, we offer disposable masks to be pulled over client’s eyes during treatment.

Between Sessions

We will disinfect all surfaces at least two (2) times with hospital grade cleaners used to fight against SARS-CoV-2, and ensure those surfaces stay wet per the product label’s required contact time. The remainder of the time will be dedicated to ventilation so, if applicable, fumes can dissipate. For information on disinfectants you can use to fight against SARS-CoV-2, visit the EPA website »

  • What is a product contact time? It’s the amount of time a disinfectant should remain visibly wet on a surface to ensure its efficacy. All disinfectant product labels indicate contact times, plus the viruses and bacteria the product deactivates when used as directed. Most people disinfect surfaces incorrectly because they do not apply the contact time rules of each product properly; so, it’s not only important to read the label to know the proper contact time, but to also understand when the product expires.

  • It’s not obvious, but disinfectants expire too. Learn how to decipher disinfectant production codes »

Tools & Equipment

We use anti-static Dumont H-style tweezers » that are place in a pouch, sealed and then sterilized in a dry heater that’s tested monthly by a 3rd party biological and chemical facility to ensure ongoing quality assurance. The pouch is not reopened until the client’s treatment session begins.

We use disposable probes by Uniprobe » that do NOT require a probe tip, thus reducing exposure points. Any exposed cotton, gels or creams will be discarded whether it’s been used or not.
