Waxing - a brazilian reasons #0009

What is it?

Waxing, a form of epilating, is the process of hair removal from the root by using wax to adhere to body hair, and then removing this covering and pulling out the hair from the follicle.

Strip waxing, (soft wax) is accomplished by spreading a wax thinly over the skin. A cloth or paper strip is applied, pressed firmly, and then quickly ripped against the direction of hair growth.

Stripless wax, (hard wax) is applied directly to the skin. The wax then hardens when it cools, allowing an esthetician to easily remove it without the aid of strips. This method is beneficial for those with sensitive skin.

Pros: Can be done at home, Fast treatment time, Single treatments are relatively inexpensive, Safe for all body parts, Effective for removing large amounts of hair at once

Cons: Known to be painful, Hair eventually grows back, Distorts follicles causing ingrown hairs upon regrowth, Not precise, Messy, Can cause slight redness and swelling immediately after treatment

The Pain Factor: Waxing can be painful but tends to hurt less the more often it gets done. The thinner the skin and closer to the center line of your body, the more painful it can be. Women also tend to experience more pain when they are menstruating.

Longevity: Lasts 1-3 weeks

In Summary: Waxing provides the same results as sugaring, but people with sensitive skin find they have better experience with sugaring because of it natural ingredients.

Results are equivalent to sugaring, threading, tweezing and epilating
